The very Conservative messages in Disney/Pixar's "WALL-E"

SPOILER ALERT! I have seen the movie so I have no problem talking about it.

I saw Disney/Pixar's "WALL-E" today.  I'm fairly certain that Disney didn't really have a political agenda when they made the movie (or did they?). Whatever the case is, I saw many things about the movie that spoke very well for conservative ideal and very poorly for liberal ideals.

First, all can debate who is responsible for the junked up earth.  I'm sure unrestrained consumerism will be the liberal explanation.  I, however, have a different take.  Yes, the unrestrained consumerism did result in a trashed planet necessitating the evacuation of all humanity. When the CEO of "BuyNLarge", the corporate leader of humanity, ordered that the Axiom human escape ship to remain forever in space, it was because, as the CEO said, the clean up attempts were "too hard".  That is a very liberal thing to say.  Conservatives stand up to challenges and overcome them, especially if the ultimate well-being of the earth and humanity was at stake. Where were all the environmental types to mourn the devestation of Morther Gaia? They were at the BuyNLarge like everyone else, only they were probably complaining about conditions and were waiting for someone else to take the lead on the solution.

When WALL-E hitches a ride back to the Axiom to pursue his new robot love, EVA, we see that the surviving members of humanity are a bloated, gelletanous globs of fat so incompacitated by their obesity after generations of excess that they all move around in floating chairs and have even lost the ability to walk for the most part.  All humans are pampered every waking moment by a plethora of robots of every, shape, size and function.  Humans are born to incubators, taught in BuyNLarge schools, and are catered to for their entire lives.  This is liberalism at work.  Cradle to grave paternalism, government ran schools and a welfare state that tries to be all things to all people creates soft people unable to stand on their own two feet. These are hallmarks of liberalism and an out of control government and not a responsible, responsive government led with conservative principles of self-reliance.

At one point in the movie, the captain wishes to go back to earth.  He is overruled by the ship's computer called Otto.  Otto tells the captain that he is following orders given by the earth CEO to stay away from earth forever.  Liberalism creates bureaucratic functionaries that exist to serve the government not the people.  But the bureaucrat Otto is not doing what it is doing because of any malevalence or animus toward humans.  Quite the contrary, Otto is trying to ensure humanities survival. The captain tells Otto, after getting signs that the earth is now able to sustain life again in the form of a plant in a boot, that he doesn't want to just survive, he wants to live.  That is a major difference between liberalism and conservatism.  People ever day are more than content to just survive on the handouts from the federal government.  They eat the government cheese, let the government pay their medical bills, let the government teach their children and take government money, all with the sense of entitlement that they are somehow owed the money.  There is no desire to progress beyond their current station.  This complacency and feeling of entitlement also allows the government to dictate other elements of American society.  The government led by today's liberals want to dictate what kind of choices we have in automobile, medicine, energy source, how high we can set our thermostats, who gets on our airwaves, on and on and on.

There is another scene where the captain, after being dumped out of his hoverchair, struggles to stand up again after years of seditary life provided by the robot servants.  He can barely see his pudgy toes smothered in the fat on his feet. The captain's struggle even gets the "2001: A Space Oddessy" treatment as "Thus Spoke Zarathrusta" is played.  This symbolizes the ability people have to stand on their own feet, even after years of taking the liberal hanouts that rob people of motivation and desire for self-improvement.  In other words, it's never too late to shake off the shackles of liberalism.

At the end of the movie, humanity returns to earth and the captain shows the obese humanity how to farm again.  It is hard to be self-sufficient. It requires hard work with no guarantee of success. However, the challenges of living, instead of mere survival, requires  commitment, determination and hard work.  The rewards of living by your own means, even if that means foregoing certain nicities, are self-respect, pride in one's own accomplishment and the knowledge that you can overcome any challenge. Those are the rewards of conservatism and it is nearly impossible to place a price on the value of such rewards.

As I stated at the onset, I don't think "WALL-E" was written with a political agenda.  However, there are many examples from the movie that can be used to illustrate conservative principles, especially to our children, of self-reliance, standing on your own two feet, and the dangers of excessive liberalism.

Obama staffers remove criticism of The Surge from website

Today the team responsible for the Obama campaign website has removed their criticism of The Surge from the website.  What an admission of defeat by The Messiah!
Here is what The Messiah said on January 10, 2007: "I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there," the Illinois senator said that night, a month before announcing his presidential bid. "In fact, I think it will do the reverse."

Here is a picture perfect example of the inexperience and incompetence of Barack Hussein Obama.  Given a choice between The Surge and the chance for victory and certain defeat, Barack Obama was "unconvinced" that the 20,000 troops will solve the sectarian violence problem", so he has advocated certain defeat.  He was convinced exactly the opposite would occur. Utter incompetance and wrong-headed thinking that would lead to an absolute failure of foreign policy under an Obama Administration.

The Swift Boat guys had that book about John F'n Kerry called "Unfit for Command".  If they were to do one now comparing Obama to Kerry, they would probably call it, "On Second Thought: Why Kerry would be better than Obama".

All you Democrats out there are being snowed by a media relations machine trying to usurp your power as The People. With regard to Iraq, Obama's "hope" was the hope that the Surge would fail.  His message of "change" is a change from ever increasing chances of success to certain failure and defeat.

Wake up, people!!!

The 3rd World and Arab nations don't care about Global Warming

Has anyone other than myself noticed that only the liberals in the United States and Europe care about global warming?
Maybe I am.

It is obvious that China and India don't care about global warming or else they wouldn't be uppig their importation of the oil that is making us all sick like what Harry Reid said.

It is obvious that Africa doesn't care about global warming as they use more and more fertilizers to do more and more farming which causes more and more clear cutting of forests and more and more desertification.

It is obvious that South America doesn't care about global warming as countries like Brazil clear cut Amazonian rain forests, vital for carbon sequestering (ala carbon offsets) so they can plant more crops.

It is obvious that Russia doesn't care about global warming as they lay claim to oil in the Arctic Ocean, continue to pump tons of natural gas out of underground wells and let's not forget the ecological wastelands that the former Soviet Union created during their 80 years of existance.

It is obvious that Arab nations and OPEC don't care about global warming or else Saudi Arabia wouldn't have agreed to up oil production by 300,000 barrels of oil a day.  Iraq is bragging about increasing monthly oil production to nearly 2.5 million barrels.

If we were really worried about our "addiction to oil" (Bush made a huge mistake with that comment, by the way), then we should really address the "addiction" the same way we are trying to tackle the "war on drugs" by hitting the sources of supply as well as trying to curb demand.  All Democrat eco-communists in Congress are doing is attacking the user and not the supplier.  Well actually, congressional eco-communists are doing a very good job of attack domestic oil suppliers.  Our American oil companies only provide 25% of the oil we use, yet Congress wants to hit them with "windfall profit taxes" on what they are making.  This is akin to busting the neighborhood drug peddler and calling it a great victory against drugs while letting tons and tons of drugs to come in to the country unabaited.

There are two reasons why the 3rd world and Arab nations are doing all of this despite the "concensus" opinion of international scientists that global warming is real and man-made: 1) poor nations have people to feed, people to employ and people that enjoy increasing standards of living, and 2) GLOBAL WARMING IS A HOAX AND THEY KNOW IT!!!

They also know that the U.S. will get the blame for ALL of global warming because they know the eco-communists in America will make sure we get the blame.  Truth is that average people are backtracking as fast as they can from global warming hysteria.  60% of Britains don't believe in global warming anymore.  90% of Americans polled feel that high gas prices are hurting them and over 500,000 people signed Newt Gingrich's "Drill here, drill now" petition.

The truth is that 'global warming' is the latest vehicle used by communists in the environmental movement ("eco-communists") to seize power from us, The People, and dictate to us how to live our lives.

The dangers of being out of touch with the people

In the last few days, we have seen our two candidates track different paths on subjects of great concern to the American people.  Fortunately, it is John McCain rather than Barack Obama that is doing things right.

The first topic was John McCain dismissing Phil Gramm for his comments about Americans "whinning" about their economic situation. This statement was incredibly stupid and insensitive. The fact is that perceptions are reality.  The perception battle is what helped to kill the re-election of George H. W. Bush as the media did story after story on Bush not knowing the price of milk and stuff like that. McCain was wise to dismiss Phil Gramm and get ahead of the bone-headed comments.

The second topic is the lack of foreign language education in American schools that Obama thought severe enough to opine that he was embarassed that Americans only know "Merci beau coup" when traveling to France.  My first question is: what average American can afford to fly to France this summer with fuel prices so high and the dollar so low?  My second question is: considering what a sorry job our schools do teaching kids their primary language, English, why should we be worrying about them speaking a second or third language poorly?  Fact is that Obama is rapidly portraying himself as out of touch and an elitist.  Actually, he has been working on the elitist part for some time now.  With his comments about Pennsylvania voters clinging to "God and guns during times of difficulty", Obama is showing that he is out of touch with average Americans.  The biggest mistake Obama will make is not supporting a lift on the congressional ban against drilling for oil off-shore.  Obama's answers to date can be summed up as: I'm going to punish Big Oil with high taxes.  When confronted with stories of hardships caused by high fuel prices, Obama's answers have been basically "alternative forms of energy will save us".  In other words, Barack "Marie Antoinette" Obama is telling poor and middle class Americans. "Let them drive Priuses", a car most Americans can afford to buy and can't afford to maintain if they buy them.

Poll after poll shows that most Americans are doing okay, but it is their neighbors, friends and family that they worry about more.  In 1992, James Carvelle accurately summed up the race then as "It's the economy, stupid."   While oft repeated, with high foreclosures, high gas prices, higher levels of interest rates, higher levels of unemployment, teh first candidate that can connect with those Americans that are worried about the course the country is headed on and offers tangible plans to aleviate the pains, real or perceived, that they are feeling will win this election.

"Could" - The ultimate Liberal fearmongering word

Headline - June 27, 2008 (LiveScience): North Pole Could Be Ice Free in 2008

Story in San Luis Obispo Tribune (June 26, 2008) has the line: "More than 4,000 low-income San Luis Obispo County residents could be denied health coverage if deep cuts in Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s proposed budget are approved, according to a study being released today."

Headline - June 27, 2008 (USAToday): Honey Bee crisis could lead to higher food prices

Headline - June 27, 2008 (NBC17 Raleigh, NC): Easley: Drought Could Be Worse Than Last Year

Nothing provokes the fear response in readers than the word "could" in a news story.  Liberal editors love that word. It can mean anything. You can start any story off with the word 'could' and you have just made news.  What they don't tell you are the other side of the coin possibilities. The "North Pole Could Be Ice Free in 2008" story actually says that it is a "50-50" chance that the North Pole could be ice free.  Well that is true about just about everything, isn't it?   You can be struck by lightning... or you could not.  You could lose your job tomorrow, develop an incurable disease, have a loved one killed in a drive-by shooting, lose your home to foreclosure, be a victim of terrorism... or you could not.  The economy could slide into depression... or not.  The earth could be hit by an asteroid... or it could not. There is an endless amount of stories that can be produced just by inserting the word "could" into the story.  With the Drive-by Media, almost 95% of the use of the word "could" is in the negative context. If the story has anything to do with projections about the Bush Administration, the Iraq War, Global Warming, the economy, unemployment, or home foreclosures, it will most certainly be negative.  The word 'could' is also tied to studies in an endless parade of liberals using the fallacy of the "appeal to authority" to justify their fraudulent positions.  Liberals always depend on some figure of authority telling the rest of us how we should be living our lives.

How is it that any of the above possibilities can be considered 'news' in the first place?  Because an "expert" says so, that's how.

"Could" and DDT

Look at any story about product safety.  Just because the possibilities exist that one thing or the other you enjoy or makes your life more convenient somehow makes a lab rat somewhere sick, you, or more importantly, your children, could be poisoned, a product should be taken off of the shelves.  This is how it came to be that the most effective fighter of Malaria in the third-world, DDT, came to be banned for use everywhere.  Rachel Carson's 1962 book "Silent Spring" created such a stir on the possibilities that DDT 'could' have widespread effects on the ecosystem and human life, without evidence to support the claim, that the EPA banned the use of the pesticide in 1972.  The rest of the world followed suit shortly thereafter.  What are we left with because DDT 'could' be harmful to the environment and humans? We have the idiots on American Idol going over to Africa to ask you and me to give money so that African children can have bed nets to ward off Malaria spreading Mosquitoes.  Bed nets!?!?!?!  WTF, over?  Why not just use the banned DDT, eradicate the freakin' Mosquitoes and be done with the disease of Malaria once and for all?  We can't spray DDT in Africa because the American Bald Eagle, 15,000 miles away could be threatened by DDT usage.  What utter nonsense.  I can only hope that St. Peter holds Rachel Carson and her supporters responsible for each and every death caused by Malaria in an African country because her "could" ended the use of the most effective Malaria fighter in the world.

"Could" and Global Warming

The area of so-called man-made global warming is rife with stories about all the things that the global warming hoax 'could' produce.  In a quick Google search on "Global Warming could", here are the things that news stories said global warming could cause:

more thunderstorms

no polar bears

cannibalism (thanks Ted Turner)

global cooling

mass extinction

more war

economic devastation

the next Ice Age

more cardiovascular disease

increases in Malaria (see above for the real reason why)

increases in kidney stone disease

more wildfires

increases in Asthma in England

4.5 billion people dying by 2012 because of permafrost melting

wetter grasslands

damaged French wine industry

displace birds

decrease ocean volume through evaporation

increase ocean volume threatening coastlines

colder water causing more hurricanes

warmer water causing more hurricanes

damaged crocodile reproduction

worsen US oil output

food riots

wipe out most birds

a frozen Europe

a strained Northeast power grid

a water crisis in India

on and on and on

Even the supposed cures for global warming 'could' do such things as damage the ozone layer. The planting of trees as part of the bogus "carbon offsets" can actually make global warming worse by reflecting sunlight back up into the atmosphere.  How do "experts" come up with some of these predictions of gloom and doom?  Since "experts" have no real evidence that any global warming has occurred at all, they have to create artificial circumstances that would allow them to say that global warming could happen. They do this with computer modeling.  One of the key terms within the computing world is GIGO, or "garbage in, garbage out". Used mostly in computer programming, the GIGO concept really means that your program will only be as good as the code that you write for it.  The same holds true with all of these global warming computer models that have sprung up in recent years.  Since these "experts" know that there is no control group for everything in the atmosphere, they have to recreate it in a "controlled” environment.  But what these "experts" don't tell you is that they don't know all of the variables required to produce a truly accurate representation of the earth's atmosphere.  For instance, the "experts" have no clue exactly how much precipitation occurs daily around the world.  Since precipitation is the main mechanism for the earth to cool itself, it is a major factor in determining what the local temperature of a given region is.  Furthermore, there is no global temperature.  The statistic of 1 degree temperature increase over the last 100 years is an average of averages at different reporting locations around the world. So, the computer models are really, really rough guestimates of what the guy programming the model thinks ought to be going on out there.  The use of computer modeling is what led the dimwits from the Department of the Interior in Washington D.C. to place the polar bear on the Endangered Species list. (http://www.doi.gov/news/06_News_Releases/061227.html)

Fortunately, there are several right-minded people out there willing to fight this insanity of computer modeling.  (http://www.gov.state.ak.us/news.php?id=1163)  Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has stated the State of Alaska will sue the Department of the Interior in Federal court to prevent the polar bear from being placed on the Endangered Species List.

If the loony left were actually interested in producing a valid computer model of the earth's atmosphere, their "experts" would do more research on how the atmosphere works and do a better job of capturing atmospheric variables in their models, these doomsayer predictions would have more credence.  But then again, that wouldn't serve the interests of the global warming doomsday cultists.

One last word on the "North Pole Could Be Ice Free in 2008" story.  This is not the first time this story has been circulated.  Actually, this story appears every year.  What has changed is that the out-years have become shorter and shorter until this year where the doom is this year, supposedly.

BBC News (December 12, 2007): "Arctic Ice Free by 2013"  http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7139797.stm

UK Guardian (September 5, 2007): "Arctic could be Ice Free in 23 years"    http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2007/sep/05/climatechange.sciencenews

The University Center for Atmospheric Research (December 11, 2006): "Abrupt Ice Retreat Could Produce Ice-Free Arctic Summers by 2040" http://www.ucar.edu/news/releases/2006/arctic.shtml

LiveScience (November 3, 2005): "Arctic Summer could be Ice Free by 2105"  http://www.livescience.com/environment/050823_ice_free.html  (Not British, which kind of explains why they are off on t

UK Guardian (November 3, 2004): "Global Warming 'will leave Arctic Ice Free".... by 2070.  http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2004/nov/03/environment.environment

Oh, but how soon we forget this article from the ancient time period called "The 1990's" (which is only referenced to bolster Bill Clinton's ego about how great life was 'back then').  An article from the website "NewScientist" dated April 10, 1993 is entitled "Science: Algae tell of Arctic's ice-free past"  (http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg13818682.900-science-algae-tell-of-arctics-icefree-past-.html).  The article says that ancient algae dated 7,000 years ago shows that much of the Arctic Ocean was pretty much ice free. So this is nothing new?  What were humans doing 7,000 years ago to cause all of this Arctic ice thaw?  Must be all the cars that the Sumerians were driving around back then.

Other uses for "Could"

Media loves to use the word 'could' to hypothesis about other projected disasters.  The SLO Tribune article referenced above stated in the body that the people most in danger of losing health-care benefits under Governor Schwarzenegger's budget were people that had difficulty speaking English and who had transitory home situation.  For those of you in Rio Linda, CA (stealing from Rush for a second), that means illegal aliens would lose their access to our health care.  The article never says "illegal aliens" anywhere in the article, but what other group of people is both transitory and have poor English skills?  Why don't the writers of these "news stories" just come out and say, "Budget will hurt migrant worker health care" or something at least close to their prime concerns?  Because they know that the average taxpayer in California would go "So what? They aren't supposed to be here in the first place."

The media also uses could to project nonexistent benefits.  Today, (July 10, 2008) Yahoo! News had an article: "Study: As gas prices go up, auto deaths drop".  So feel good and rejoice, America! The confiscatory high prices you are paying every time fill your tank are SAVING LIVES!!!!  Hooray for high gas prices!!!!  What a crock of horse manure!  Truth is that these gas prices are high because liberal eco-communists in Congress WANT them high.  Otherwise, they would drop the congressional ban, in concert with Bush dropping the executive order ban, and allow off-shore oil exploration.  Mr. and Mrs. America would see gas prices drop by 30 cents in a week because the oil futures market would see oil on the market in the future.  But that doesn't fit the policy shift the eco-communists want.

In the end, 'could' can and does mean anything the media wants it to mean.  Usually, it results in policies that abridge our freedoms and do damage to our families' standard of living and way of life.

Will the real Obama please stand up?

Barack Hussein Obama, Democrat messiah candidate for president, has been changing his positions on the issues of the day faster than any candidate in US presidential candidacy history.  He has done more than 'flip-flopped' on issues, typically just a 180 degree change on the issue.  Obama has done complete rotations on the issues.  He flip-flops on his flip-flops, thus completing complete rotations just like the earth one day to the next.  Below are some of B. Hussein Obama's greatest rotations:

Iraq

In 2002, Obama delivered a speech where he staked out that he was, and is, against the war in Iraq.  This speech, incidentally, was the first time Obama said that his grandfather told of hearing stories of fellow US troops entering Aushwitz and Treblinka, which were liberated by the Soviet Union.

Obama has stated repeatedly that he will have all troops home in 16 months.  However, recently he said that it is possible that his position on Iraq could be "refined" once he meets commanders on the ground later this month.  What is he expecting to hear from General Odierno, the former second in command to General Petreaus?  He should expect to hear that Iraq will be secure in one calendar year from now.  Hence, his "refined" position will be that all US troops will be home 26 months from now, after the US has won in Iraq. Actually, it will take 3 years to do any Iraq redeployment correctly.

Obama completes his rotation by saying that the media is making too much over his "refinement" comment.  Therefore, Obama has come full circle back to "all troops home in 16 months."

NAFTA

During the primary fight with Clinton, Obama said that he wanted to "renegotiate" NAFTA with Canada and Mexico to get some sort of fanciful guarantees on labor and environment gaurantees.  Canada immediately issued a press release that any renegotiation of NAFTA will have to include discussions regarding the tariffs, or lack thereof, placed on Canadian oil, which accounts for 45% of US oil importation. China also approached Canada about paying the tariffs the US wasn't paying to get the oil Canada was sending to the US.

But here's where the rotation begins.  One of Obama's aides told a the Canadian Ambassador that Obama was not serious about renegotiating NAFTA and that it was just "campaign rhetoric".

Shortly after this, the Obama camp and the Canadians said that the conversation never took place.  Oh, but
Austan Goolsbee, top economic advisor to Obama, did talk to a representative of the Canadian cousleor general in Chicago where the subject of NAFTA was discussed.

Now, Obama is back to saying that NAFTA is bad for America and that the labor unions and eco-communists want more protections in NAFTA.  Well, they didn't exactly say that but that is who is pulling Obama's strings on NAFTA.

Public Financing of His Campaign

According to the Wall Street Journal (June 10, 2008), "In January 2007, Sen. Obama criticized Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for opting out of public financing for the primary season. In February, responding to a questionnaire, he pledged to remain in the public-financing system as long as his Republican opponent agreed to a "fund-raising truce" for the general election."

Well, Obama unilaterally broke the truce on June 10th by saying that he will refuse public monies for his campaign, the first candidate to do so since Watergate.  It is easy to walk away from public financing when your campaign has raised more than a quarter of a billion dollars.  Integrity does have a price tag.  It is $265 million.

Obama says this is no big deal since he still wants to reform the campaign system.  Too bad there is no leadership by example on this topic with Obama.

The real problem here, and there are more examples that could be given, is that American still don't know what Obama's core beliefs are.  Is he the same guy that says he cringed when his grandmother made a racially insensitive comment or the one that he is trotting out in recent campaign ads trumpeting her "Kansas values"?  Is he the candidate that says that he could no more turn his back on The Rev, Reverend Wright, than he could turn his back on his uncle or is he the candidate that disavowed The Rev after he continued to make the same comments Obama was criticised for listening to.  He then left the church altogether when Trinity Baptist brought in a guest pastor, Reverend Pflugger, that said exactly the same things The Rev said about Hillary Clinton.  Obama only left because he felt that the church would be continually used against him, not that he disagreed with anything either reverend said.

The fact is that Obama's views change quicker than the direction of a breeze in Kansas (that's fast, by the way).  No one knows what Obama really stands for in terms of his core philosohy.  Those that think they have figured it out have been dismissed as racists.  So the question remains: who really is Obama at his core?  Who is pulling the strings and writing the pretty speeches for Obama?

Will the real Obama please stand up?

McCain should advocate for "excessive luxury taxes" on limosine liberals

Barack Obama came out a while back with a "windfall" profits tax on Big Oil's recent profits as his method of dealing with the high costs of gasoline.  This is a proposal is fundamentally flawed because a) the oil companies invested millions of previous profits to get those billions of profits; and b) because that tax will do ZERO to reduce the actual costs at the pump and will more than likely cause them to go up as Big Oil transfers this cost (as they do all others) to the consumer.
If I were a McCain advisor, I would advise McCain to propose his own set of taxes, calling them "excess luxury taxes".  Since Obama and all liberals rail against all "excess" profits, McCain should start railing against the excess luxury of the wealthy elite in America.  These people are the same people, like Al Gore and Leo Dicaprio, that fly around in Gulfstream jets and ride in limosines, yet want to tell you and I how we are destroying the earth with our meager lifestyles. These wealthy limosine liberals seem to have excessive luxuries that have insolated them from the plights of real Americans that have to pay $4.79 a gallon to get to their second job just to make ends meet.  The average American can't afford the $20,000 hybrid cars, the $10 toxic compact flourescent light bulbs, the E85 capable cars, and don't want to keep their thermostat at 60 degrees in the winter and 80 degrees in the summer.  While these hypocrites tell us to "sacrifice" the hypocrite eco-communist liberals live in their 20,000 square foot houses, have fleets of cars, fleets of yachts and fly around alone in fuel guzzling private jets.  It is these eco-communist liberals that can afford all of this green technology and they are the last to buy it. Yet it is you and I, the average joe, that is supposedly causing the "man-made" global warming hoax.  So without further ado, here are the "excess luxury" taxes:

1. An excessive luxury tax of $10,000 on the sale of all non-commercial use limosines.

2.  An excessive luxury tax of $1,000 per operating hour on all non-commercial jets that seat fewer than 20 people.  If the non-commerical jet does seat more than 20 people, there will be an additional $1,000 per empty seat fine (based on the average commerical jet seating capacity) on top of the $1,000 per operating hour tax.

3.  An excessive luxury tax of $500 per square foot on all non-commerical homes above 6,000 square feet and a $1,000 per bedroom tax on all non-commerical houses with more than five bedrooms.

4.  An excessive luxury tax of $15,000 per automobile on the ownership of six or more automobiles, to include motorcycles, RVs and trucks.

5.  An excessive luxury tax of $1,000 per foot on all non-commercial watercraft longer than 15 feet.

6.  An excessive luxury tax of $20,000 per residence on all non-commerical houses above two houses.

7. An excessive luxury of $100 per kilowatt hour on the non-commericial use of electricity beyond 20,000 kilowatt hours per year.

It is about time that these limosine liberals put their money where their mouth is.  If they think that the average American, who can't afford their solutions to their bogus global warming, are the ones that should be buying their solutions, they should start leading by example and start driving around in hybrids, using CFLs, cuttign down on the amount of electricity they use and what not. I want to see these hypocrite liberals start putting up or shutting up on global warming.  Maybe then these liberals will stop with their selfish, holier-than-thou NIMBY commandments on what you and I should be "sacrificing" for Mother Gaia, and get the liberals Congress to open up ANWAR and the coastal waters to oil drilling.  Only then will they be helping the average Americans they have always claimed to protect.

DNC to the Dem. voters of MI and FL: You're less than slaves to us

Not since the founding of this nation has anyone trampled on the concept of "one man, one vote" until yesterday when the Democratic National Committee said that the voters of Michigan and Florida will not be represented at the DNC national convention as whole people.  Yesterday, the DNC rules committee said, because the Democratic State Committees of Florida and Michigan violated national party rules, their delegates will only count as 1/2 a vote in Denver.  Here is where Irony rears its ugly head.

When our forefathers were working on hammering out our new form of government, one of the big sticking issues, aside from the whole small states vs. big states issue of the Great Compromise, was who would be counted as a person for purposes of determing how many representatives would be seated per state.  The southerners wanted all of their slaves counted as part of the total population of each southern state, which would give the South a majority in the new House of Representatives.  The northern states opposed this on the grounds that the slaves were, after all, slaves and did not enjoy the rights and freedoms as other whole persons.  Therefore, the northern states argued, slaves should not count as people until they are freed and are treated as equal people.  This, of course, was repeallant to the South because the entire economy of the South was built on the backs of slave labor. The "3/5ths Compromise" stated that slaves, or "other people" as coyly noted in the Constitution, would only be given 60% representation in the Congress.  In other words, they were 3/5ths a person according to the census.  The compromise was enshrined into the final draft of the Constitution and ratified into existence in 1788.  The United States would wrestle with the issue of slavery for 80 more years before the Civil War was fought to end slavery and another hundred years still before blacks in America would be allowoed unencumbered access to the polling places to vote as whole people.

So here we are, the Year of our Lord 2008, and the Democratic National Committee has voted to count the delegates, the Democrat delegates, of Michigan and Florida as only 1/2 a vote.  This is 1/5th less than that of the slaves in the 1787 "3/5ths compromise".  It is astounding that the DNC has chosen in a forum of DNC operatives to reduce the vote of their own constituents by one-half.  If the Republicans had the gall that the Democrats obviously do, to reduce the power of two huge states by one-half, every Democrat and Mainstream media figure would be out there raking the RNC over the coals with the exact same criticism I am leveling here.  The exception would be that the Democrats would be using language far, far worse than anything I have or will said here. Can there be any more doubt or debate that the Democratic National Committee of John F. Kennedy and Harry S. Truman and Franklin Delano Roosevelt is DEAD. The DNC of 2008, under the leadership of Howard Dean, is completely and utterly intellectually and morally bankrupt.  The DNC of today views it's party rules with more import than the premise of "one man, one vote".

The greatest disenfranchisement of voters since the passing of the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was a process of cold calculation by the DNC. What they have said is that Hillary Clinton will not win the nomination for the presidency this year.  They gave Hillary the win, but only gave her half the votes for that win. In addition, they further punished Hillary in Michigan by giving her fewer delegates than what she actually won outright.  By choosing to disenfranchise voters that picked Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama, the DNC has decided that the voting blocks of blacks and young voters are more important to the DNC going forward than the voting blocks of white, working class men and woman.

While this caluculus may sound very cynical, it is logical if viewed through DNC eyes.  The DNC has decided that they have to stand with their black candidate to keep the black vote from defecting or staying home.  The DNC counts on, no, relies on the 90% of the black vote that every Democrat candidate gets simply by putting a "D" behind their name when they run for office.  After all, Bull Connor was a Democrat and huge civil rights violator.  Connor was the one that unleashed the dogs on civil rights protestors. George Wallace, a Democrat, stood in the doorway of that college auditorium in Huntsville, Alabama trying to prevent four black students from attending the University of Alabama in 1963.  It is a "D" for Democrat that a 'former' Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan, Robert Byrd, has behind his name, not an "R" for Republican.  It was Democrat Sen. J. Fulbright, well-known segregationist, that Bill Clinton chose to be his mentor.  And after all of these facts, the blacks of America continue to vote Democrat.  Even after the Great Society of Democrat Lydon B. Johnson, that destroyed the black family and consigned blacks to a generation of second-class citizen status, blacks still continue to vote for Democrats.  Michigan of 2008 is 14% black which represents nearly 12 million people and yet, the Democratic Party wished to count their vote as only 1/2 a person. But Michigan also is 81% white, which is a key Clinton demographic.  Here again, the DNC can do nothing to undermine the candidacy of their black male candidate over the white, female candidate. Florida is more problematic for the DNC.  Florida is 14.3% black and 20% Hispanic.  These are key demographics that Democrats used in 2000 to say that Republicans were working to disenfranchise, even though the precincts and counties in question were ran by Democrats.

I am not willing to say that Florida and Michigan are going to vote Republican this election cycle.  I have no way of knowing what kind of repercussions this decision by the DNC have going forward.  I will say that this decision will harden Hillary Clinton's determination to stay in the race until the convention. Hillary Clinton will say that she is beign screwed out of the nomination because of this decision.  Her determination to sway the votes of the Superdelegates will intensify.  The Democratic Convention has become "Must See" TV this summer as the floor fight that is going to ensue will rival, if not surpass, the floor fight in 1968.

Sadly for Democrats, the DNC knows that Obama can't win, but they are stuck with him because of his race.  If the DNC were to throw their fatally flawed black male candidate under the bus for the less, but still, fatally flawed white woman candidate, then the Democrats will lose the black vote for a generation, if not forever.  The DNC also knows that more new young voters have signed up because of Obama than Clinton.  Even though young voters do not vote with the same consistancy as older voters, the DNC knows that those young, infrequent voters will become older, regular voters in a few years. They want them as Democrat voters and they are working now to plant the seeds of a regular Democrat voter later. Hillary just chose the wrong year to pit her identity politics of gender against the identity politics of race.

Hillary also underminded her own moral high ground by going for the disenfranchisement of Michigan and Florida voters before the first ballot was cast. Through her own arogance in believing that she was the candidate of destiny, she agreed with the DNC in striping the delegates from FL and MI.  However, she continued to keep her name on the ballot in each state as a cynical ploy to be able to go back to those states and claim them as victories if she needed them, which she does. If she had fought the DNC from the start on this plan to disenfranchise FL and MI voters, campaigned in the states as if they were regular states, then she would be able to say that she was entitled to all of the delegates she won.  Now she just appears desparate for delegates to prop up her failing bid to be president.

I wish to remind you, the reader, one more time that this is totally a problem with in the Democrat Party, not the Republican Party.  The chaos this election cycle has been created and implemented by the leadership of the Democratic National Committe.

If someone had asked me, here is the compromise that I would have put forth:

1.  The DNC pays for revotes in Florida and Michigan in order to ensure that Obama is accurately represented since he abided by the rules and didn't campaign in either state.
2.  Seat all delegates with out prejudice this year.
3.  In 2012, as punishment for violating the 2008 rules against moving their primaries ahead of New Hampshire, the states of Florida and Michigan will not have their primaries before March 1, 2012.

This compromise would have affirmed the concept of "one man, one vote", would have punished FL and MI in the following election cycle and would have ensured that every voter's vote counted.  Now there will be chaos, maybe even rioting, Denver this year because the DNC lacked the forsight to see a way out of this mess they created for themselves without trampling on the rights of voters in two very populace states.

Problem the DNC also has is that crap is still surfacing against Obama.  First he had the Reverend Wright (known here simply as The Rev) and all of The Rev's anti-American, racist hatemongering.  It wasn't until The Rev reiterated everything he said on the pulpit to the National Press Club did Obama distance himself from The Rev and disavow The Rev once and for all.  But Obama didn't disavow the church, his church that had employed The Rev for the last 20 years of Obama's life.  So the Trinity Baptist Church brings in the Reverend Michael Pfleger, a white man that spoke and said exactly the same things that The Rev had said for 20-years.  So finally Barack Obama leaves the church that married him and his wife and baptised their childrem.  The Superdelegates have to be scratching their heads wondering what else is waiting in the weeds to pop up against Obama.  It has been 6 months and there are still things we don't know about Obama and his past associations.

Also, Obama can't keep his feet out of his mouth.  In the span of 24 hours, Obama said that dead veterans are walking among us, that an uncle he didn't have helped the Soviet Red Army liberate Auschwitz in World War II. The truth is that Obama's great-uncle liberated Buchenwald in Germany, not Auschwitz in Poland. But the fact remains that Obama does not speak extemperaneously worth a damn. When Obama is off-script, he stammers and stutters worse than Bush every has.  When on-script, Obama makes the most plain substance-free things sound profound.  Constrast that with Bush, who says many profundities but are framed by the media as being the stammerings of an idiot.  The Superdelegates know that Obama is fatally flawed and doesn't have the grit to stand up to the war hero status of McCain.  They have to know this and yet they will still pick Obama at the end of the day.

In order for John McCain to capitalize on this huge mistake by the Democrats, can do several things:
a) He can select Charlie Crist from Florida as his Vice-Presidential candidate to try to lock up that key state. This might be unnecessary since the state has been prime McCain territory back in January.
b) Select a woman as his Vice-President.  This would be the smarter move as this would endear McCain to Democratic women voters who feel that Hillary has been a victim of "sexism" pepetrated by the mainstream media and the DNC.  Candidates here would be Sarah Palin from Alaska, Elizabeth Dole from North Carolina or Lisa Murcowski, also of Alaska.  An outside choice her would also be Condaleeza Rice.  Because of her ties to the Bush White House, which could galvanize Democrat opposition to McCain and solidfy the label of "third Bush Term", the fact remains that the biography of Condi Rice makes Barack Obama's look insignificant by comparison. Condi is everything Obama isn't: she is a genuine black American woman that grew up in the segregated south who has accomplished much on her own merits.  She witnessed churches burning in Alabama whereas Bill Clinton could only say he read about it.  Condi would be a great choice, but I don't see this as a real posibility because of her stated desire to not run and the McCain camp wishing to distance themselves from the Bush Administration.
c) Select Bobby Jindal as V.P.  A true conservative in the Reagan mold, Jindal is the son of Indian immigrants in Louisiana.  Jindal would be able to stand for minorities while championing the fixes to the government that would prevent the disjointed and ineffectual Federal response to Hurricane Katrina from happening again.  Jindal could expand the Katrina reforms to a national stage and lock in McCain as different from Bush by picking a man that has had to deal with the aftermath of the largest natural disaster in U. S. history.  Also, Jindal is a reformer and a visionary that has successfully changed the culture of corruption that has existed in Democrat-dominated Louisiana since the creation of the state.  Also, and most importantly, Jindal is a young man of 36 years old.  He would be 40 at the end of the first McCain term.  If McCain only ran for one term, Jindal would be in a prime position to use his youth and his vice-presidential experience to beat Hillary Clinton in 2012.

Mitt Romney really doesn't make my list because I think that he would overshadow McCain as Veep. Romney and McCain also have animosites left over from the primaries that would linger into the general electin run.

My votes are 1: Jindal, 2. Palin, 3. Murkowski, 4. Crist, 5. Dole, 6. Romney

This Democrat disenfranchisement plays right into McCain's strengths if he makes the right choices here on out.

Global Warming is a hoax, part deux (revised)

Albert Gore, Jr., one time U.S. Vice-president and a heartbeat and 500 votes away from being president himself, said at Carnegie-Mellon's commencement address Saturday that those that graduate can be the third "Greatest Generation" in the fight against global warming.
(from FoxNews)
He said, "You, I hope and expect, will be called upon to be part of the third hero generation in American history," by countering the threat of global warming.  "We face a planetary emergency," Gore said. "The concentrations of global warming pollution have been rising at an unprecedented pace and have now given the planet a fever."

So Al Gore has gone from just preaching the apostile according to Al, but now he is recruiting new college graduates to become his footsoldiers in his Jihad against Global Warming.  One problem with that: Global warming is still a hoax.

Members of the Global Warming Doomsday Cult still preach that the sky is falling... or at least it is very angry at poor old Mankind.  Al Gore said exactly that after the cyclone struck Myanmar, or Burma to those that don't change the names of countries just because a junta tells them to.  Acadamy Award winner, Al Gore, said to NPR stated the storm was one of the "consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with global warming." Another problem: not all scientsist agree with Al Gore and the GWDC.  In September , 2007, the Hudson Institute published a report that said the following:

" A new analysis of peer-reviewed literature reveals that more than 500 scientists have published evidence refuting at least one element of current man-made global warming scares. More than 300 of the scientists found evidence that 1) a natural moderate 1,500-year climate cycle has produced more than a dozen global warmings similar to ours since the last Ice Age and/or that 2) our Modern Warming is linked strongly to variations in the sun's irradiance. "This data and the list of scientists make a mockery of recent claims that a scientific consensus blames humans as the primary cause of global temperature increases since 1850," said Hudson Institute Senior Fellow Dennis Avery."

Furthermore, not all scientists believe as Al Gore, Noble laureate, does that global warming causes hurricanes.  As a matter of fact, many believe that global warming, were it true, would actually depress the occurances of hurricanes . (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,356549,00.html)

The latest contender for Paris Hilton's "most useless human in the world" is Prince Charles.  He now says that the earth has 18 months before calamity and devestation are wrought on all us people.  This despite all of the data that points to cooler sea temperatures, the coldest April in 50 years and how the .3 degree increase in temperat
