Why it has to be "Anyone But Clinton"

I am at the place now where almost any Democratic candidate for president will be an acceptable president, so long as that person is not Hillary Clinton.  I focus on Hillary Clinton because of an episode that happened long ago when Hillary's husband had an affair with a young woman that captured the national spotlight and exposed the depths that Hillary Clinton will go to for power.  Before Monica Lewinsky, Juanita Brodderick, Kathleen Wiley and even Paula Jones, there was one woman that almost cost Bill Clinton his chance at the presidency.

That woman was Gennifer Flowers.

I'm sure you are asking "Why her of all those listed?".

Bill Clinton was an up and coming rising star of the Democratic Party from a backwater state (Arkansas had the 49th ranked state in almost every category).  Gennifer Flowers came forward during the 1992 presidential election and claimed that she had had a 12-year affair with Bill.  She claimed to have born Bill Clinton a son that she gave up for adoption.  She produced audio tapes that revealed telephone conversations between the two of them where they spoke affectionately with each other.  Two Arkansas State Troopers came forward and corroborated her story.  With all of the evidence she presented, Bill Clinton was still able to go forward and win the presidency.  With one interview, Hillary Clinton essentially told the American People that if she didn't think Bill's affair was a big deal, neither should they and the American People should go ahead and elect him, which they did.

What kind of woman would, after finding out that her husband was involved in a sexual affair for 12 years, one that produced an illegitimate child, would still "stand by her man" as he ran for the Presidency?  The answer is that Hillary Clinton has a singular lust for power and she would accept any flaw in Bill Clinton so long as he was able to obtain greater and greater power. Hillary Clinton has used her husband's presidency to give herself credentials she didn't earn, accomplishments she didn't achieve and a record that is not her own.  All this for the purpose of first getting elected to the Senate and then to position herself to get elected president in her own right. How can we as Americans trust a woman that is supposed to swear to God to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic" when the vows given to her by her husband to "honor and cherish, forsaking all others, until death do us part" meant nothing to her?  I cannot, in good conscience, support someone, either man or woman, that is supposed to be truthful in word and deed, when she does not uphold those same standards in her own marriage.

As Hillary Clinton runs for the presidency, be aware of two events occurring simultaneously: The total absence of any personal opinion on "what right looks like" from Hillary Clinton and the absolute silence by the major media outlets on the vacuum that is Hillary's positions, her record as First Lady and as New York Senator, and her qualifications to be president.

Have you noticed that whenever Hillary gets off her "George Bush is the face of evil in the modern world" mantra, which blames George Bush for issues that were issues during the Clinton Administration, she flounders around the issues and tries to speak for several minutes without saying anything?  Have you noticed that the press rarely brings up this point in it's coverage of her, unless it is because other candidates, not the press, are taking her to task for her empty words and fence sitting? Have you noticed that whenever she speaks to core liberal constituent special interest groups, she gives endlessly pandering speeches (like at Selma), gives policy proclamations that sound patently socialistic if not plain Orwellian (seizing the profits of  oil companies; forcing all Americans, regardless of your personal opinion of the state of your medical insurance coverage, to be in a universal health care program, etc)?

This post has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton's gender.  I would have voted for Elizabeth Dole had she won the GOP's nomination in 2000.  However, I have found that of all the candidates for president, to include Dennis Kusinich and Ron Paul being the extremes on both ends of the spectrum, Hillary Clinton is the only candidate that appears to be in it to be president solely for the purpose of self-aggrandisement and the accumulation of personal power. I strongly believe that Hillary Clinton's hidden lust for power and the willingness of the major media outlets to abet her in fulfilling her lust is the greatest danger facing America as we go forward into 2008 and the next presidential administration.  I am willing to accept risk with any other candidate;  I am not willing to accept that risk with Hillary Clinton.
